UC Davis NAGPRA Implementation Committee

In 2018, the California Legislature passed AB-2836, which specifies the composition, qualifications, and nomination process for the members of the UC Systemwide and Campus NAGPRA Implementation Committees. Following nomination by the Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC), UC Davis Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor appointed six individuals to the campus NAGPRA Implementation Committee in August 2021.

The Campus Committee is broadly charged with providing compliance oversight and review, advising the campus Chancellor on matters related to the campus’s implementation of NAGPRA and Cal-NAGPRA, and promoting campus implementation of the UC Native American Cultural Affiliation and Repatriation policy.
