A Notice of Intent to Repatriate Cultural Items removed from the Sugarpine area in Placer County CA (UC Davis Accession 87 and UCDA) and Bear River and Robbins areas in Sutter County, CA (UCDA) has been published in the Federal Register. 

A Notice of Inventory Completion for Accession 38 has been published in the Federal Register.

The UC Davis NAGPRA Project joins the Chancellor and colleagues in remembering and acknowledging the passing of former Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Chair Marshall McKay. Chairman McKay was a nationally recognized leader and advocate for repatriation, cultural preservation, tribal sovereignty, and environmental sustainability. The UC Office of the President issued an Interim Policy for Native American Cultural Affiliation and Repatriation Policy. The policy is issued as interim in order to allow tribes that have not been able to review the policy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The University will issue a final updated policy by the end of the year.
